Organization Membership

Organizational Membership
General Information: Kinesiology Organizations can now join EnKA under the category of Organizational Member (OM). As originally founded EnKA (formerly ASK-US) was to be primarily an individual membership organization. The EnKA Board believes it is now time for all the Kinesiology Organizations to have the opportunity to come together under one umbrella organization. Currently each K Organization acts independently of all the other K's. This means the various K Organizations do not have a united voice to represent them to the overall K Community or to the general public. The creation of an OM category with voting representation on the EnKA Board of Directors is an opportunity for the K Organizations to have that voice sing loud and clear.

The Benefits of Becoming an OM:
There are many benefits for Kinesiology Organizations applying for acceptance in the Organizational Membership category of EnKA. Some of these benefits include:
  • 1. K Organizations, through their elected representatives to the EnKA Board of Directors, will have a say in the direction and growth of Kinesiology as a profession.
  • 2. K Organizations will have a forum for gaining wider understanding within the profession of "what they do and how they do it."
  • 3. K Organizations will gain further recognition and acceptance by being able to make presentations at EnKA conferences and by publishing articles in the EnKA Journal.
  • 4. By meeting with other K's at conferences, K Organizations will have a forum for discussing areas of mutual interest and concern.
  • 5. K Organizations through EnKA will be part of a united voice in responding to governmental attempts to regulate our practices and organizations.
  • 6. All OMs will have the right to attend as observers all EnKA Board of Directors meeting.
Financial Benefits of Becoming an OM:
  • 1. OMs who sign up members of their organization to become EnKA members shall receive a 20% referral fee from the first year dues of that member and 5% each year thereafter. The individual member can choose to be listed by a different OM whenever the individual renews their EnKA membership. In that case, only the new OM will be entitled to the 5% referral fee.
  • 2. OMs who promote to and sign up members of their organization, who are not currently or previously been EnKA members, to attend the EnKA Conference shall receive a onetime 10% referral fee from that person's registration after attending.
  • 3. OMs will receive a 10% discount on advertising fees in EnKA publications. OMs can purchase the EnKA mailing.
  • 4. List and exhibit tables/booth space at the Conference for a 10% discount off the regular price.
    Organizational Member
To qualify for OM status the Kinesiology Organization must meet the following criteria:
  • 1. The OM must have a curriculum containing at least one course.
  • 2. The OM must have a certification program for students to be able to become teachers of the OM's course(s).
  • 3. The courses offered by the OM must meet the Professional definition of Energy Kinesiology.
  • 4. The OM must be willing to mail, at its expense, EnKA membership invitations to instructors of its courses and members of it's organization located within the North America once per year. This mailing may be included within a regular mailing conducted by the OM.
  • 5. The OM must be willing to do, at its expense, one mailing per year of the EnKA Conference brochure to its North America mailing list or provide a copy of that list to EnKA. If it provides a list to EnKA, EnKA will pay for the mailing.
  • 6. The OM must provide, within 2 years of becoming a member, a copy of its Code of Ethics, which the EKA Board of Directors must approve, or it may officially adopt the EnKA Code of Ethics.
OM category Dues are $200.00 annually and include:
  • Organizational Membership on the Board of Directors of EnKA:
  • The OM Category shall initially have one additional seat on the Board of Directors reserved for its representative. The OM members shall elect, by majority vote and by secret ballot, the person who will represent the interests of all the OMs. In the event no person receives a majority vote then the Board of Directors will select the representative from one of the OMs. When there are more than five OMs, there will be a second seat on the Board of Directors reserved for its representatives.
  • The OMs elected representative(s) shall be active members of the Board and shall have one vote per representative. Any OMs representative(s) may be elected as Officers of the Board of Directors provided they also have an individual membership with EnKA.
  • When there are two representatives, each representative will serve a 2 year staggered term.
  • OMs shall have one vote per organization and can only vote for the OM representative(s) to serve on the Board.

Affiliate Membership:
  • The Affiliate Member (AM) Category shall be composed of organizations or individuals that have a primary focus of selling products or services aimed at Energy Kinesiology members and Organizations.
  • AMs may sell products by advertising in EnKA publications, by purchasing the EKA mailing list for direct mail, and purchasing table/booth space at the EnKA Conference provided that the Conference Chair determines to make table/booth space available at any particular conference.
  • Persons or organizations wishing to be considered for AM status must submit an application form to the membership committee specifying its product or service along with payment of $200 for dues for first year membership. AM dues will be $150 each year thereafter.
  • AMs will not be entitled to vote for the Board of Directors nor hold positions on the Board nor vote on any issues raised at the Annual Meeting.
